Autumn 2017 Newsletter

Welcome to our autumn newsletter. As you flick through the pages I’m sure you’ll agree that we have had some great fun over the past few months.

It’s been an exciting term; we launched our TAG Radio Station during oursuccessful Awards Night during National Youth Work Week and set up some new initiatives including a Recruits Crew, Mentoring Scheme and the LondonYouth’s City Leaders programme.

We have been busy fundraising to provide our members with the opportunity to explore new experiences and find exciting new resources for our young people to enjoy and engage with. We are currently investing in some virtual reality equipment and next term we will be launching a new project currently called TAG News (working title) where we will be producing a user led newsletter.

We are still welcoming new children and young people to our Junior Club and have supported 14 children during the term. We are currently bringing insome changes so both Clubs’ operations run parallel. Our Junior Club (10-15 years) operates on alternate Fridays between 17:30 & 19:00.

Our core Youth Club continues to be successful with our youth workers supporting 77 young people during the term. Our Youth Club (15-25 years) operates weekly between 19:30 & 21:30.

Lastly I am pleased to share the news that the Club has achieved the London Youth Silver Quality Mark.

Please don’t forget to follow our social media streams to keep up to date witheverything that’s going on.

TAG Youth Club

We have been busy looking at the costs of our residential trips. Our trips are always subsidised and have been fortunate to have received additional funding in 2018 and 2019 but long term this cannot guaranteed. We’re pleased that subsidies will continue in 2020, however we are proposing the following new price structure to ensure we can cover the costs to the charity:

£250 per person. For those on low incomes, there will be the opportunity to apply for a additional subsidy. We want as many young people to have the opportunity to come away with us and have an action packed short break.

£250 per person who requires their own PA to attend. There will be no charge for the PA.

£400 per person who require TAG to provide 121 support during trip.

Our aim in 2020 will also be to look at additional funding and take part in fundraising activities to be able to reduce the £400, 121 cost to £250 so there is a one price structure for all.

Tonight 36 young people attended our Chilly Olympics night. We enjoyed snowboarding on our simulator and we took part in some races and did some arts and crafts.

34 young people completed our end of session evaluation with everyone depositing a green disc.
